About the Role As an Exploration Manager, you will oversee and direct exploration activities, ensuring operational excellence and the identification of valuable mineral resources. We are seeking visionary leaders who can balance technical expertise, team management, and strategic planning to achieve outstanding results.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement exploration strategies and programs aligned with company goals.
Manage teams of geologists, technicians, and contractors to execute exploration activities efficiently and safely.
Analyze geological data and resource models to identify and prioritize exploration targets.
Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and reporting for exploration projects.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and community groups.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and geological insights to drive innovation.
Requirements:
Qualifications: A degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications or an MBA are an advantage.
Experience: 8+ years in mineral exploration, including leadership or management roles. Experience in base metals, gold, or other commodities in Western Australia is highly regarded.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in geological software and resource modeling tools (e.g., GIS, Leapfrog, Micromine, or equivalent).
Leadership: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
Fieldwork: Willingness to travel to and work in remote locations as required.
Licenses: Valid Australian driver’s license. 4WD experience is highly regarded.
Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR certification. MARCSTA or equivalent safety training is an advantage.
Attributes: Strong decision-making skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
